Masters
This page presents prominent representatives of each generation of Petrykivka decorative painting — from the first masters of folk tradition to contemporary artists.
First Generation
The so-called Old Masters, whose art was shaped by the origins of folk wall painting, where there were no professional artists and everything was based on tradition passed from mother to child.
Second Generation
The first graduates of the School of Decorative Painting, founded in 1935, where both Old Masters and professional artists taught. These masters later split into two schools — those who stayed in Petrykivka and those who moved to Kyiv.
Third Generation
Mostly students of second-generation masters who became the core of the artistic team at the "Druzhba" factory.
Fourth Generation
Contemporary masters shaped by the Experimental Workshop of Petrykivka painting, who continue their creative work to this day.
Fifth Generation
Young masters who are students of third- and fourth-generation masters, as well as graduates of professional courses across Ukraine.
Self-taught
Interest in Petrykivka painting exists beyond the traditional center — people master this art on their own.
