Valentyna Milenko (born April 22, 1957, Balivka) is a master of Petrykivka painting and Honored Master of Folk Art of Ukraine (2014). She is a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (since 1994) and the National Union of Folk Art Masters of Ukraine (since 2001).
Education
She graduated from Dnipropetrovsk Technical Communications School No. 6 (1975) and Petrykivka painting courses (1989, teacher Valentyna Sokolenko).
Work
She worked at the “Druzhba” factory (1978–1982, 1986–1990); since 1992 at the Petrykivka Folk Art Center. Since 2011 she has led a Petrykivka painting club at Balivka Secondary School. She paints in gouache and egg tempera; her favorite subjects are flowers and birds. Major works: the panels “Bouquet” (1988), “Bird Gossip” (1991), “Lilac” (2001), “Irises” (2002), “Field Sonnet” (2014).
Exhibitions
She has exhibited in all-Ukrainian and international shows since 1988. Solo exhibitions: Petrykivka, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Kyiv, Toronto (2007), and Berdiansk.
Collections
Her works are held in the Zaporizhzhia Art Museum, the Dnipro Art Museum, and the Ukrainian National Museum in Chicago.
