Valentyna Karpets-Yermolaieva (born June 27, 1970, Mykolaivka, Verkhnodniprovsk district) is a master of Petrykivka painting and Honored Master of Folk Art of Ukraine (2007). She is a member of the National Union of Folk Art Masters of Ukraine (since 1991) and the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (since 1994).
Education
From 1987 to 1989 she studied at the Petrykivka Vocational School, specializing in wood painting; in 1989–1990 she studied privately under Olena Zinchuk.
Work
Since 1990 she has worked as a Petrykivka painting master — first at the Experimental Workshop of the Dnipropetrovsk Art and Production Combine, and since then at the Petrykivka Folk Art Center. She paints panels on paper and wood, decorative plates, vases, toys, interiors, and furniture; her favorite subjects are flowers and birds.
Recognition
Laureate of the Maria Prymachenko Prize (2008) and the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine (2025, jointly with Natalia Rybak, Andriy, and Maria Pikush) for the project “Petrykivka Painting: Defending Identity.”
Collections
Her works are held in the Dnipro Art Museum, the Zaporizhzhia Art Museum, the National Museum of Decorative Art, and private collections in Canada, the US, and Japan.
