Petrykivka School of Decorative Drawing
The Petrykivka School of Decorative Drawing was organized in 1935 and 1936. It was directed by the artist and art historian Oleksandr Statyva. Tetyana Pata served as the head teacher and taught Petrykivka painting to an entire generation of masters who would later shape it as a modern art form.
Tetyana Pata is often considered the founder of the Petrykivka painting school, although she herself, when asked, would note that she was continuing traditions passed down to her by her own grandmother.
